Meet Dr. Ranaweera
Hello, there! Thank you for visiting our website. I wanted to share a bit about myself. I was born & raised in the island paradise of Sri Lanka. In 2010, my family & I moved to Nova Scotia, where I completed my undergraduate & dental degrees. I then moved to Toronto to complete my hospital dental residency & specialty training in orthodontics.

I am thrilled to have returned to the East coast, & honoured to introduce Ocean Orthodontics to this amazing community. I have poured my heart & soul into creating a clinic where you’ll have complete clarity throughout your smile journey, confidence in the care you receive, & the reassurance of feeling truly cared-for throughout your time with us.
You will have my complete attention for the entire duration of your treatment. I know the strengths and weaknesses of the traditional orthodontic model where each patient gets a few seconds of doctor time per visit, or multiple doctors overseeing treatment, and I wanted to create a better experience for myself and my patients! My commitment to patient care has earned me stellar reviews on RateMD, and I am excited to help you achieve your dream smile!
When I'm not thinking about teeth, I like to travel, go to the movies, bake delicious sweet treats, and hang out at home with my husband and our 3 extraordinarily cute cats. I enjoy graphic design and interior design because I love exercising my creative muscles even outside of work. In fact, I designed and created the logo & website for Ocean Orthodontics, and I can't wait for you to see what my amazing interior design team and I put together for our clinic space!
