Clear Aligners
Clear aligners like Invisalign® involve a series of plastic trays that slowly move your teeth into the proper positions. It can be an amazing option for many patients, from simply addressing minor crowding issues to comprehensive orthodontics. Aligners are more aesthetic, can be more comfortable than braces, and makes oral hygiene easier during orthodontic treatment (vs. braces). The Aligner journey
Consultation
We will take a 3D scan of your teeth at your initial consultation. If you decide to get aligner treatment, we will use this scan to prepare your digital treatment plan. Once Dr. R is happy with your it, she will order your brand new aligner trays.
Attachments
At your next appointment, Dr. R will place the small tooth coloured attachments on your teeth & give you your first few trays. She will discuss homecare, how to insert & remove the trays, & tell you how many weeks it'll be before you need to come for a checkup.
Refinements
In the middle of your treatment we will take refinement scans to order updated trays to progress your treatment more efficiently. This is a common part of the aligner treatment process and does not mean your treatment is not progressing properly.
Debond
Once you and Dr. R are happy with how everything looks, we will do a final scan to order your retainers. Then you will come back to get all your attachments removed and have your wire retainers placed. Head over to our "retainers" section to learn more!
